HORIZON SCIENCE ACADEMIES: SCHOOLS WE CAN BELIEVE IN

"We need to follow the lead of other countries and recruit teachers from the top of universities' graduating classes. We might start by converting all schools of education to programs designed to turn content experts into teachers, letting potential teachers study subject matter they will be teaching rather than the mind numbing theory of how to teach."

A pretty big blow to those who falsely allege our 'Gulen' charter schools are anything but above par from Craig R. Barrett, former CEO of Intel. Experts teaching content is exactly what's going on in Horizon Science Academies. That is why we stand up for what's right. Everyone realizes Horizon provides good teachers with the right tools to produce a quality of education unsurpassed by any other we've seen. Without this we will continue to lag behind other countries. Even CEO's and writers for CNN can see we need our so-called Gulen charter schools. What a shame others choose to attempt to take away the very thing we clearly need.

OBAMA SUPPORTS CONCEPT SCHOOLS

concept schools

On April 10, 2013 The President, Barack Obama, announced his FY 2014 budget proposal. His proposal prioritizes key education investments including preschool expansion, improved college affordability, and building on reforms that have proven to be effective.

The Official Blog of the US Department of Education identifies the “Bottom Line of the 2014 Budget” in a recent post. Along with other important areas in education such as early learning, and career readiness, the Obama administration proposes an aggressive STEM push that will improve the delivery and impact of STEM education. Concept Schools implements a school design that provides STEM education in an environment of high expectations and standards. Located in urban areas, all of the Concept-managed schools provide predominantly minority and economically disadvantaged students a high quality, STEM focused education and get phenomenal results

It is great to hear that the Obama Administration realizes the importance of STEM education and supporting what Concept does successfully across the Midwest.
