According to a recent national survey, only 1/3 of K-3 elementary teachers teach Science on a daily basis. Beyond that, less than half of them say they feel comfortable teaching it. As a parent, which would you rather have: a teacher who does not feel comfortable teaching elementary science to your child OR a teacher who is highly educated and can teach the subject with ease?
Now, as parents of students at Horizon Science Academies, we obviously chose the second option.
So our question to you is, why does this change if it happens to be the case that, the qualified teacher is foreign or specifically Turkish?
With more than half of American elementary school teachers admitting they lack what it takes to teach science, why is it so far fetched for our so-called Gulen charter schools to hire those who are? Think about it...
that's funny because my son and his classmates can't understand a word his 6th grade teacher says at lorain ohio horizon. The gentleman is from the Mideast and has very broken English
ReplyDeletehow unfair to these children
Whichever parent wrote this obviously has the same problem. Did you have teachers from the Middle East (not Mideast)?
